Shallow storage tray — frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions of this storage tray and what does it hold?
The tray measures 252 x 114 x 24mm externally and 248 x 107 x 22mm internally. The slim shallow format is ideally suited to seed packets, flat craft embellishments, rub-ons, sticker sheets, die cut sheets, and other flat items. Also holds approximately 200 standard business cards arranged in neat rows.
How many seed packets does it hold?
The internal dimensions comfortably accommodate a useful collection of standard seed packets standing upright in a row — the exact number depends on packet thickness but most standard seed packets sit neatly side by side across the width of the tray. The drop-on lid keeps packets dust-free and protected between growing seasons.
Is this tray suitable for long term seed storage?
The tray is made from acid-free polypropylene which will not react with or damage paper seed packets over time. The impact-resistant construction and close-fitting lid protects contents from moisture and dust. For best seed viability, store in a cool dry location — the tray keeps packets organised and protected but is not airtight.
What material is this storage tray made from?
The tray is made from high-impact PP5 polypropylene — a chemically inert, recyclable plastic that is acid-free, moisture-resistant, and significantly more robust than standard polypropylene. Opaque white finish. Wipes clean easily.
Where is this storage tray made?
This storage tray is designed, manufactured, and quality-checked at our factory in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey. S.B.Weston Ltd has been manufacturing precision injection moulded products in south west London since 1948 — originally from a factory in Teddington, then on Platts Eyot, a small island in the Thames, before moving to our own factory premises in Sunbury-on-Thames in 2002. When you buy a WestonBoxes product, it is genuinely made in Britain — not just branded here.
