12x12 storage box — frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions of the WestonBoxes 12x12 box and what does it hold?
The 12x12 storage box measures 317 x 343 x 28mm externally and 310 x 335 x 25mm internally. Although the box takes its name from the 12x12" paper it is designed to hold, the internal dimensions are slightly rectangular rather than square. This is intentional — many 12x12" scrapbook papers come with a tear-off margin strip on one edge carrying the manufacturer's branding and barcode. The extra length accommodates the paper with the strip intact, so you don't need to tear it off before storing.
What else can I store in the 12x12 box?
The 12x12 box works for any paper, card, or flat material smaller than 12x12" — including A4, making it a useful general-purpose storage box for larger format papers, art prints, and photographs. It is particularly popular with scrapbookers for storing paper collections, card blanks, and large format printed media. The shallow depth and clear construction make it easy to see and access contents without removing the entire stack.
Is the WestonBoxes 12x12 box acid-free?
Yes. The 12x12 box is made from acid-free polypropylene, which means it will not react with or damage paper, card, or printed media stored inside it. Safe for long-term archival storage of expensive scrapbook papers and handmade work.
What material is the WestonBoxes 12x12 box made from?
The 12x12 box is made from clear PP5 polypropylene — a chemically inert, recyclable plastic that is acid-free, moisture-resistant, and durable. The clear construction allows instant visual identification of contents without opening the box.
Where is the WestonBoxes 12x12 box made?
The 12x12 storage box is designed, manufactured, and quality-checked at our factory in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey. S.B.Weston Ltd has been manufacturing precision injection moulded products in south west London since 1948 — originally from a factory in Teddington, then on Platts Eyot, a small island in the Thames, before moving to our own factory premises in Sunbury-on-Thames in 2002. When you buy a WestonBoxes product, it is genuinely made in Britain — not just branded here.
